Our research  study is testing the effectiveness of a mobile application for treating depression and anxiety symptoms in students. This study is a collaboration between University of Roehampton, Roehampton Student Union, University College London and Thrive - the company that develops the application.

The application uses relaxation techniques, entertainment and mood tracking to help you reduce these symptoms in an accessible and convenient way. Activities can be completed in your own time, wherever you are.

If you decide to participate and are eligible, you will either be given access to download the application immediately or be put in a waiting list group. The study will last for 6 weeks, with follow-ups afterwards. We will ask those using the application to use it at least once per week, for at least 10 minutes. Both groups will be asked to answer questions about their feelings of anxiety and depression once every two weeks, which will take approximately 10 minutes. We expect that the study in total will take approximately 1.5-2 hours of your time across the 6 weeks..

To participate, you will need to own a computer, iPhone, iPad, or Android phone or tablet. All information collected and stored will be kept strictly confidential and secure in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998, and only the research team will have access. All participants will remain completely anonymous.
